Yoga Day

Keynote Speaker: Ms. Vinita Sakpal

On the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day 2024, LSI organized a special event, centred around the theme "Yoga for Self and Society." The session was expertly conducted by Ms. Vinita Sakpal, a renowned Nutritionist and Yoga Instructor. Their insightful guidance highlighted the profound benefits of yoga for personal well-being and its positive impact on the broader community. Participants experienced a rejuvenating session that emphasized holistic health and the harmonious integration of mind, body, and society.

Rangoli Competition

The rangoli competition has organised to inaugurate, 'National Nutrition Month- 2024'. The rangoli competition is organized by LSI on theme, ' Celebrating Nutrition for a Healthier Tomorrow'. The students participated enthusiastically as well as draws attractive and impressive rangolis which sticks to their them by using eco- friendly colours.

Food Stalls – Flavours of Health

As part of National Nutrition Month 2024, the FY BSc students of Integrative Nutrition and Dietetics organized a food carnival titled “Flavours of Health” on 4th September. The event aimed to showcase that healthy eating can be both delicious and creative, with dishes made from nutrient-rich ingredients. The students prepared a variety of items, including Nut Crackers with Hummus, Cucumber Sushi, Spaghetti di Carote, Mexican Salad, Lime Mojito, Sattu Drinks, and Fruit Salads. Each dish was designed to highlight the health benefits of whole foods and promote balanced nutrition in a fun and engaging way.
The carnival provided an excellent opportunity for students to apply their nutrition knowledge in a practical setting, while also educating visitors on the benefits of the dishes presented. The event was well-received, with the Cucumber Sushi and Sattu Drinks being particularly popular among attendees. Overall, the “Flavours of Health” carnival was a successful initiative, reinforcing the importance of nutritious, enjoyable food choices and contributing to the ongoing celebrations of National Nutrition Month 2024.

Teachers’ Day Celebration

At Lifeness Science Institute, Teachers' Day was celebrated with heartfelt appreciation and admiration for the dedicated educators shaping the institute's future. The day commenced with a special assembly honouring teachers, where students expressed gratitude through speeches, poems, and performances. Various activities were organized to acknowledge the contributions of teachers, including a 'Teacher Appreciation Wall' where students penned their messages of thanks. Overall, the Teachers' Day celebration at Lifeness Science Institute was a touching tribute to the mentors who inspire and guide students every day.

Yellow Day

The Lifeness Science Institute celebrated “Yellow Day” on September 19th, 2024, emphasising the significance and vibrancy of the colour yellow. Yellow, being a colour closest to light, resonates with the radiance of the spirit, and is often associated with the sun’s rays and stars. It’s a shade that naturally stimulates feelings of happiness, energy, and optimism in our young learners.

Street Play – Intercollegiate Competition

As part of National Nutrition Month 2024, Lifeness Science Institute (LSI), in collaboration with the Nutrition Society of India (NSI), organized an Intercollegiate Street Play Competition on 19th September 2024 at CWC campus, Malad, with 47 UG and PG students participating. Through dramatization and storytelling in Hindi and English, students highlighted the role of nutrition and lifestyle in preventing metabolic disorders. A panel of experts judged performances on content, creativity, and impact, awarding Nirmala Niketan College of Home Science, Churchgate (1st place), Bombay College of Pharmacy, Kalina (2nd place), and B.K. Birla College, Kalyan (3rd place). The event successfully raised awareness, encouraged public health advocacy, and reinforced nutrition education.

The Secret to Happiness

Keynote Speaker: Ms. Rhonda Divecha

Lifeness Science Institute (LSI) hosted an insightful webinar titled "The Secret to Happiness" on the occasion of World Mental Health Day 2024, open to the students and staff of FVEG. The session was conducted online and led by Ms. Rhonda Divecha, Assistant Professor and Head of the Human Development Department at Nirmala Niketan College. Ms. Divecha delved into the psychological and emotional aspects of happiness, uncovering the key factors that contribute to a fulfilling life. Her talk emphasized the importance of self-awareness, positive relationships, and emotional resilience as crucial elements in achieving sustained happiness. The interactive session provided participants with practical strategies to foster happiness and maintain mental well-being in their everyday lives. Ms. Divecha's engaging approach encouraged attendees to reflect on their personal experiences and the role of mental health in shaping their overall quality of life. The webinar successfully sparked meaningful conversations about the pursuit of happiness, offering valuable tools for both students and staff to apply in their academic, personal, and professional journeys.

Pan-India E-Quiz Competition

Lifeness Science Institute (LSI), in collaboration with the Nutrition Society of India (NSI), Mumbai Chapter, organized the Pan-India E- Quiz Competition 2024 to celebrate World Food Day under the theme "Right Foods for Better Life & Better Future." With 584 participants nationwide, the quiz tested nutrition knowledge while promoting healthy eating and sustainable food choices. Winners, including Malcolm Casteliono (1st), Bhavya Bansal (2nd), Aayush Jha (3rd), and S.K. Pranav (Consolation), were awarded exciting prizes. The event successfully enhanced awareness, encouraged informed food decisions, and reinforced the importance of nutrition education and public engagement, making World Food Day 2024 impactful and memorable.

Diabetes Diet: A Practical Approach Across Communities

Keynote Speaker: Ms. Fatima Radhanpurwala

Lifeness Science Institute (LSI) organized a Masterclass on "Diabetes Diet: A Practical Approach Across Communities" on the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2024. The session was conducted by Ms. Fatima Radhanpurvala, a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Certified Nutrigenomics Counselor. The masterclass focused on customizing diabetes diets based on cultural and regional dietary patterns, emphasizing personalized nutrition, glycemic control, and lifestyle modifications. Participants gained practical insights into meal planning, carbohydrate management, and nutrigenomics in diabetes care. The session successfully enhanced awareness of community- specific diabetes nutrition strategies, empowering attendees with evidence-based dietary approaches for better diabetes management.

FSSAI – Industrial Visit

Keynote Speaker: Mr. Shashwat Sarangam

The students of Integrative Nutrition and Dietetics visited the National Food Laboratory (NFL) of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The visit, aimed at bridging theoretical knowledge with practical exposure, provided the students with a firsthand understanding of food safety, quality control, and laboratory processes critical to public health and nutrition.

Essential Oils Therapy

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Gauri Hrishikesh Bhobate

Dr. Bhobate guided TY BSc students through the benefits of essential oils for stress relief, immunity, and overall wellness. The session was interactive and emphasized the holistic application of aromatherapy in daily life. It successfully broadened their understanding of holistic health approaches, reinforcing the importance of natural therapies in integrative wellness

Bach Flower Therapy

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Suchitra Hari

Focused on holistic healing, Dr. Hari introduced students to flower essences for emotional balance and mental health. The engaging session enriched the understanding of alternative therapies in nutrition science.

VishwaSwasthyam 2025 – International Conference

VishwaSwasthyam 2025, a premier event on health, wellness, and nutrition, successfully convened 396 participants, including experts, researchers, and students, to discuss emerging trends in public health, preventive care, and sustainable nutrition. The conference featured keynote sessions, panel discussions, and research presentations, fostering insightful exchanges on evidence-based health strategies. The event highlighted the importance of integrative health approaches, bridging the gap between academia, industry, and public health professionals to address modern health challenges effectively.

The conference was enriched by pre-conference workshops, offering hands- on training in clinical nutrition, dietetics, and digital tools, equipping participants with practical skills for real-world application. Post-conference sessions facilitated in-depth discussions, networking opportunities, and collaborative initiatives, further reinforcing interdisciplinary learning.
