About N.S.S. Unit B-28
The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Unit B-28 of Nagindas Khandwala College (Empowered Autonomous) is committed to community service, social responsibility and the overall development of students. Throughout the year, the unit conducts and participates in meaningful activities such as soft-skills development programmes, blood-donation drives, health surveys, awareness drives, beach clean-up drives, and tree donation and plantation activities.
The unit promotes compassion and inclusivity by distributing Rakhis during Raksha Bandhan that are specially made by children with intellectual disabilities, thereby supporting their talent and encouraging social acceptance. During Christmas, N.S.S. volunteers visit old-age homes to celebrate with senior citizens, spreading happiness, companionship and a sense of belonging.
The unit also sensitises students to environmental conservation and waste management through various activities and awareness programmes. Through these diverse initiatives, N.S.S. Unit B-28 provides students with valuable opportunities to serve society while developing leadership, teamwork, empathy and social awareness.
