Empowerment, Awareness and Holistic Development

About the Cell and Activities

The Women Development Cell (WDC) organised a range of awareness-based, developmental, health, civic, educational, and experiential activities for students. These initiatives focused on women’s empowerment, personal development, health and well-being, civic responsibility, safety awareness, communication, leadership, and exposure to real-world learning.

Through talks, campaigns, workshops, visits, and active student participation, the Cell encouraged students to develop confidence, social awareness, responsible citizenship, teamwork, leadership, and essential life skills.

Key Activities and Events

  • Yoga Fiesta: A yoga session was organised on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga in the College Auditorium. Conducted by Mr. Fenil Purohit, the session was attended by students and faculty members and promoted physical fitness, mental well-being, and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Personality Development and Personal Hygiene: A three-day session was organised for female students. Ms. Saniya Pathan addressed communication, confidence, body language, punctuality, goal setting, time management, appearance, tone, and personal hygiene. The session also discussed practical ways of managing menstruation and encouraged holistic personal development.
  • Election Awareness Campaign: An awareness campaign was conducted to educate and encourage young women about the importance of voting and responsible participation in the democratic process. Students distributed informative pamphlets and interacted with eligible young women to promote informed civic participation.
  • Voting Awareness Activity: A voting awareness activity was conducted to promote civic responsibility among students. It highlighted the significance of voting and responsible citizenship, with student participation serving as a practical reminder of the importance of civic engagement.
  • Prevention of Domestic Violence: A session was organised to raise awareness about domestic violence, women’s rights, support systems, and the importance of standing against abuse. Mrs. Mangala Marathe from Swadhar addressed issues relating to harassment, emotional and physical abuse, legal rights, and available support mechanisms.
  • Industrial Visit: WDC members participated in an industrial visit to Adlabs Imagica and the Yusuf Meherally Centre. The visit provided exposure to the operational and technological aspects of a large-scale amusement park, along with self-sustainability, traditional craftsmanship, cooperative practices, and environmentally responsible approaches.
