About NCC

In view of the changing socio-economic environment, an exercise was undertaken by the Ministry of Defence to make aims of National Cadet Corps (NCC) in tune with the aspirations of the youth. As part of recommendations of an Evaluation Committee, the following aims have since been adopted by the National Cadet Corps:- 1. To inculcate basic values like discipline, national integration and communal harmony. 2. To provide opportunities to exhibit leadership qualities in organizing cultural and co- curricular activities. 3. To encourage cadets to participate in various inter and intra collegiate events for enrichment of overall personality. 4. To develop personality through community service. 5. To preserve and promote patriotic fervour amongst the students. Established by the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948 and raised on July 15, 1948, NCC serves as a Tri-Services Organization, incorporating the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The NCC focuses on developing character, discipline, the spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service among young people.
