About NCC

In view of the changing socio-economic environment, an exercise was undertaken by the Ministry of Defence to align the aims of the National Cadet Corps with the aspirations of the youth. Based on the recommendations of an Evaluation Committee, the NCC focuses on discipline, national integration, leadership, community service and personality development.

Established under the National Cadet Corps Act of 1948 and raised on 15 July 1948, the NCC serves as a Tri-Services Organisation incorporating the Army, Navy and Air Force. It develops character, discipline, leadership, the spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service among young people.

Aims of NCC

• To inculcate basic values such as discipline, national integration and communal harmony.
• To provide opportunities for cadets to demonstrate leadership qualities while organising cultural and co-curricular activities.
• To encourage cadets to participate in inter-collegiate and intra-collegiate events for the enrichment of their overall personality.
• To promote personality development through community service.
• To preserve and promote patriotic spirit among students.
