Yoga Classes For GirlStudents: The college conducted Yoga classes for girl students. Around one hundred students participated andthe response was better than expected. There was lot of enthusiasm and energyin the classes and the College proposes to conduct many more such classes inthe coming academic year.
Tailoring Classes : Tailoring classes were conducted for girl students. This was done toprovide an opportunity to students who want to learn the vocation as a futureincome potential. Around twenty students participated and the numbers wouldhave been more as some students stayed away due to peer pressure.
Beauty Parlour Courses: On similar lines Beauty Parlour courses wereconducted for students. Around 25 students participated. The response was notsatisfactory. The College proposes to bring in more thrust and involve studentsin promoting these courses which irrespective of need provides an alternativein form of learning and hobby not necessarily involving vocational angle.
Functional English:The College offersFunctional English to improve English proficiency of the students. There is aoverwhelming response from the vernacular medium students as they find thecourse worth pursuing.
Remedial Classes: The Remedial Classes are held everymonth for the Intellectually Challenged students in the college. Regularremedial teaching, peer tutoring and mentoring are offered to assist slowlearners.
Workshops: TheWorkshops were conducted on communicationskills for First Year BA students withinadequate “spoken English” skills. Fifty students benefitted from thisworkshop. The sessions were on newspaper reading, correct pronunciation andsimple vocabulary.
